The Troy Community Chorus, a 100+ member community choir in Troy, Michigan is looking for a choral director who can begin early March 2025 through April 25, 2025 with the potential of this becoming a permanent part-time position. The annual employment contract would begin July 2025.  The choir rehearses Tuesday evenings 7:30 - 9:30 in Troy, Michigan with a Sept - Dec. season and Jan. - April/May season.  Interim Position Pay: $2000.  Annual Part-time: $7000-$7700.  To find out more about the choir, visit www.troycommunitychorus.com.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Choral Studies or relevant field plus 1-3 years of choral conducting experience, or bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years of choral directing experience.
• Proven experience in working with adult choirs in a conducting/leadership role.
• Excellent conducting and rehearsal technique; good organizational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience in creative concert planning, resulting in successful multi-generational audience development.|
• Ability to impart music theory and vocal technique to choir in simple, accessible ways.
• Ability to communicate and cooperate with the choir board to fulfill artistic and budgetary goals.
