Outstanding Choirs

Up to two choirs will be chosen by blind audition to perform at the Thursday 7 PM at Gala/Honors Concert of the All-State Festival. 

Eligibility

• Member high school choirs of at least 21 singers in any voicing may submit an audition recording for consideration.
• Recordings must be work from the current school year and include three selections of contrasting styles, one of which must be unaccompanied (may include non-pitched percussion or body percussion).
• Audition recordings must be emailed to Erik Jacobson at erikjacobson@msvma.org by April 1.
• Application forms must be submitted online by April 1, 2024.

Participation

Directors from chosen choirs will receive information regarding forms, costs, schedules and the Gala Concert.  A letter of congratulations will be mailed to each selected choir's director, his/her principal and superintendent. A plaque will be presented to participating choirs and each student will receive a certificate. 

All-State Honors Choir

The All-State Honors Choir is composed of the top 100-120 students from the State Honors Choir auditions. This SATB choir rehearses Friday and Saturday and performs at the Saturday evening Gala/Honors Concert.
