Large Ensembles
Eligibility & Selection Process

MSVMA recognizes up to four (4) large ensembles to perform at the MSVMA All-State Festival in May.
Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, the All-State Musical Theatre Large Ensemble selection process will be as follows:
Step 1: Musical Theatre Solo & Ensemble Registration
When registering your large ensembles for Musical Theatre Solo & Ensemble, select the All-State Large Ensemble option in the dropdown.
Registration opens September 12, 2026
Fees: $80 (large ensembles)
Deadline for registration and payment is October 2, 2026
Step 2: Musical Theatre Solo & Ensemble Adjudication and Listening Panel Recommendations
Following the event, adjudicators for the large ensemble rooms will select up to five (5) large ensembles for Listening Panel Adjudication.
Large ensembles that are selected for Listening Panel Adjudication will be contacted by Director of Specialized Events.
UP large ensembles who elect to be considered for All-State consideration and are selected by adjudicators at Musical Theatre Solo & Ensemble for Listening Panel Adjudication will be added to the following rotation:

Step 3: Audio Files for Listening Panel Adjudication
Audio recordings will be provided for large ensemble rooms at Musical Theatre Solo & Ensemble; all ensembles chosen for Listening Panel Adjudication will have those audio files automatically sent to Listening Panel Adjudication.
Step 4: YouTube Submission for Listening Panel Adjudication
All ensembles chosen for Listening Panel Adjudication must provide an unlisted YouTube link of video for one of the ensemble’s performed pieces. This video is to demonstrate the acting and blocking choices of the ensemble. Failure to submit this link will result in forfeiture of participation in the Listening Panel Adjudication process. Step 5: Listening Panel Adjudication Results
Listening Panel Adjudication results will be announced; participating ensembles will be required to pay a fee of $150.00, which includes a plaque and certificates for each performer. Ensembles will perform at the All-State Festival’s Specialized Gala Concert on Thursday evening (May 13, 2027 @ 6:30pm).
