Art Song Intensive

MSVMA, in collaboration with Detroit Opera, will welcome singers in grades 9-12 to our Art Song Intensive on October 9, 2026 at The Detroit Opera House. Students will have the opportunity to sing for Detroit Opera Education clinicians and experience a studio class setting with other performers, learning from their clinics as well. This event will foster a collaborative and inviting approach to the classical music tradition, while also providing excellent instruction to students to better prepare them for the Solo & Ensemble season.

Eligibility

MSVMA welcomes students in grades 9-12 to participate in the Art Song Intensive; students must be members in good standing of their school’s vocal music program, as verified by the director of record under the official MSVMA school membership.

Fee

Registration is $25 and includes clinic and accompanist. Payment can be made by school check or director’s personal check payable to MSVMA and must be postmarked by the deadline. Fees also can be paid via credit card. Purchase orders are acceptable at the postmark deadline. The State Office must receive payment one week prior to the festival. Fees are non-refundable. Returned checks are subject to a $25 fee. Registration for an event constitutes a commitment to participate in the event. Members may not register for additional events until all past-due invoices have been paid.
