Mr. Michael K. Hancey

Mr. Michael K. Hancey began his teaching career in 1991, having graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Music Degree, Choral emphasis. He has taught in Arizona, Wisconsin, Idaho (where he earned his Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision), and finally teaching in Wyoming. Over the course of his career he has taught at all levels of education from kindergarten to high school seniors.

He taught elementary music, junior high choir, senior high choir, Spanish, Musical Theatre, AP Music Theory, Drama 1 & 2, Theatre Tech, Shakespeare through Film, Bach to Rock, and many other courses. He served as Department Chair multiple times, on various curriculum committees, high school principal, Theatre Manager, and otherr oles within education.

As a teacher, his choirs toured the United States, Ireland, and Western Europe winning multiple awards. He also served as Wyoming President of ACDA, Jazz Choir conductor for Wyoming Ambassadors of Music, and has conducted various community and religious based choirs.

He has directed over twenty Musical Theatre productions including "Something Rotten!", "Bye, Bye Birdie", "Mamma Mia!", "White Christmas", "Pippin", "Beauty and the Beast", "Into the Woods", "The Addams Family", "Peter Pan"," Les Miserables School Edition", "Singin' in the Rain", "Cinderella" and many, many more. He has also directed multiple plays including "Blithe Spirit", "1984", "Romeo and Juliet", "Almost, Maine", "The Laramie Project","Alice in Wonderland", "You Can't Take It With You", "12 Angry Jurors", and many more.

Mr. Hancey retired from teaching in 2022 and currently resides in western New York with his partner Cyndi, and cat Hamilton, and works as a playwright and in Human Resources for a major home improvement retailer.

Joseph Daniel-Hoste

Joseph D. Daniel is a free-lance musician whose reputation for musical excellence keeps him busy as a conductor, clinician, and accompanist throughout the state of Michigan. In addition to his musical endeavors, Dr. Daniel serves on the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) Advocacy Committee where he promotes music education advocacy and social issues in the music classroom.

For six years, Dr. Daniel served as an adjunct faculty member at Washtenaw Community College where he taught voice, piano, musical theater, and music theory. He also founded and directed the WCC Chamber Singers, a comprehensive choral program comprised of five unique ensembles. He is increasingly in demand as an orchestral keyboard musician with many local, regional orchestras. In 2012, he performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as part of the AVANTI Summer Program. He also performs with many local community theater companies as music director and as a pit musician. Dr. Daniel made his professional performance debut in 2001 with concerts in France and Germany and has since played recitals throughout Michigan and Texas. He has also made appearances in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. Dr. Daniel completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as the final pupil of the late Dr. Robert Glasgow. Prior to his doctoral study, he earned dual master's degrees in organ and carillon performance also from the University of Michigan. He is a published composer whose works have been performed around the globe. He also maintains a private studio and adjudicates throughout the state for the MSVMA. Dr. Daniel is Artist in Residence at Christ Church, Grosse Pointe and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Organ at Madonna University, Livonia.
